Oldschool Waves is a musical concept: the oldschool sound reborn through the underground movement.
Our story
The early days
Before it even existed, Oldschool Waves was above all a bunch of heads. Into hardcore, oldschool rave techno, vinyl mixing and music production, they'd been going to free parties for years, some already playing DJ sets or live.
That's how Léo, Nathan, Alexis and Thomas decided to build a sound system together. After three years of learning, saving, buying gear and building it out, the crew grew with two new members, Antoine and Ben.
Oldschool Waves hit a turning point by throwing its first party on 11 September 2021. In a family, no-bullshit atmosphere, the event pulled in a clued-up crowd, fuelled by that one energy: dance, let go and live the music to the fullest.
Oldschool Waves is born
The machine was rolling. In the weeks, months and years that followed, more free parties came to life, sharpening our identity bit by bit. In 2022 we took it up a level with the release of our first vinyl, a decisive turning point for the crew.
Every event, every experience — good ones and rough ones alike — taught us, pushed us forward and hardened our vision. Little by little a sonic aesthetic took shape, along with our own way of building a party.
Listen hard, dance hard, live hard. An Oldschool Waves party is above all a space of total freedom. No room here for everyday hassle: you come, you let go, you give it everything.
The rebirth
A showcase with Exit23 goes down at Funke Club in Gent: an intimate event, but one that states our artistic and musical direction loud and clear, along with our renewed vision of the party.
Oldschool Waves is far more than just a sound system. It's not only about gear or throwing events anymore: it's a musical concept in its own right. We bring our own ideology, our own music and our own way of celebrating the party. That's our signature, our identity.
New parties, new records and plenty of other projects are on the horizon, with one ambition: keeping this adventure alive as long as we can.
